Chapter Twenty-Five

Zeke

After the incident with Hannah’s mom, things go back to normal. In a way, it brings our group closer together. We’re constantly looking after Hannah. We spend our free time hanging out together.

For my birthday, the Decker family throws a party just like they did for Tucker and Ethan. It’s the first time I’ve had a birthday party. Sadie is in charge of the decorations. Thankfully, it’s just some balloons and a birthday cake. Hannah proposed a Tonka Truck or a Hot Wheels party. Luckily, her mom ignored her.

“Aw, the baby of the group is seventeen now,” Hannah mocks me, handing me a box. “I hope you like it.”

“You’re not sixteen yet,” I remind her as I unwrap the box.

She grins. “According to Dad, I’m fifteen going on thirty-five. That makes me older than all of you.”

I laugh. “If you say so.” She’s ridiculous, but this absurd girl gives me one of the best presents in the world—a miniature Millennium Falcon. “You’re the best, Hannah Banana.”

“For the nerdy guy inside you,” she declares, ignoring the nickname. I’m trying to get it to stick, but she’s resilient, and the others aren’t using it at all.

I hug her tight. “The hidden nerdy part of myself appreciates you a lot.”

Tucker and Ethan approach us. “Good, we’re all together.”

“We’re always together,” I remind him. “I’m fucking lucky that you don’t follow me to the bathroom too.”

“It can be arranged.” Tucker winks at me.

“As long as you know how to handle the stick, I’m down for it,” I joke.

“Are you two done?” Ethan stops us, glaring at Tucker.

“Aw, Ethan is jealous because they don’t let him play with the stick,” Tucker teases him. “I’m sure if you ask nicely, he’ll do it for you.”

“I’m not jealous of anyone,” Ethan growls.

“Stop teasing Ethan. You two need to grow up,” Hannah lectures us. “I should set you up with my friends. That might control your nonsense and your hormones.”

“Do you have any friends outside our circle?” Ethan jokes.

“Unlike you, yes, I do,” she responds. “I can introduce you to someone from my ballet class or school.”

“Ethan will be okay if you set him up with a guy or a girl,” Tucker states.

My eyes open wide.

Ethan gasps. “What the fuck, Tuck?”

Tucker frowns. “I’m sorry. Is she not supposed to know about it?”

“About what?” Hannah asks. “Are you gay?”

“No, he’s bisexual,” Tucker corrects her.

“Fuck you, Tucker!” Ethan punches him in the arm and jets out of the house. Tucker runs behind him. I want to punch Tucker because how dare he out Ethan without his consent.

Hannah looks at me. “Did he out Ethan?”

I shrug. I can’t speak because if I do, I might say something that I’ll regret. Tucker shouldn’t have said that. What the fuck is wrong with him?

“Should we check on them?” Hannah asks, concerned.

I shrug. “Probably. I don’t know.” I pause and shake my head because what is there to do? I’m fucking mad at Tucker for what he said. I might punch him harder than Ethan did.
